The Funk Jazz Lounge @ Jade

The Funk Jazz Lounge @ Jade was created as a result of the success of the radio show and has just celebrated its 2nd year anniversary this past August. This event was originally held at Hardaway's Firehouse Four and Sax on The Beach both in downtown Miami during its first 2 years.

The Funk Jazz Lounge @ Jade takes place every Thursday on Miami Beach and caters to the upscale and eclectic Urban Professionals. Jade is located at 1766 Bay Road on the exclusive Sunset Harbour section of South Beach.

This unique club night is a weekly event that includes three lounges for your choice of entertainment. The Muzik Lounge, the Poetry Lounge and the Groove Lounge.

The Muzik Lounge features an upbeat social scene with our resident deejays, The Brass King and DJ Snowhite supplying a mix of urban jazz, neo-soul and rare grooves. The Muzik Lounge also features live bands from locally and national recording artists. Our most recent features have include national recording artists Floetry, Heather Headley, Mike Phillips, Lathun, Rhian Benson and new soul sensation Dwele who were some of our most notable and memorable performers.

The Poetry Lounge invites you to elevate your mind, body and soul with poetic stimulation while surrounded by world class art in the upstairs Art Gallery hosted by the ever so energetic and powerful poet and host, Rashida Bartley. The Poetry Lounge features some of the areas most talented and upcoming spoken word artists in addition to national artists that feature every couple of weeks.

The Groove Lounge allows you to fall into a trance as you lounge at the bar or dance the night away to the rhythms of R&B, classic Hip-Hop and Reggae with music provide by The Brass King.

This weekly event has proven to be a fantastic success, garnering the attention of many of South Florida's largest publications, such as the Miami Herald, New Times, Street Magazine and Rolling Out.
