Nas to release 25th anniversary edition of 'It Was Written' with two bonus tracks '

Nas will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his sophomore album, It Was Written, with a special edition reissue featuring two bonus tracks.

According to HipHop-N-More, the expanded reissue will feature the original track list, the cassette-only bonus track "Silent Murder," and a bonus version of "Street Dreams," which will be available digitally for the first time.

Fans will also be able to purchase a 7″ colored vinyl pressing of both tracks, which is available for preorder now and projected to ship in September. Additionally, the reissue will include a two-LP "silver & clear galaxy effect" colored vinyl and an old-school cassette with an original eight-panel J-Card featuring lyrics housed in a custom slipcase.

It Was Written is the follow-up to Nas' critically-acclaimed debut album, Illmatic. It features hits like "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)" featuring Lauryn Hill, appearances from Mobb Deep, and production from Dr. Dre.  The album brought Nas out of underground success and introduced hip-hop supergroup The Firm, which consists of Nas and fellow rappers Foxy Brown, AZ, and Cormega.

The reissue arrives July 2nd -- the same date It Was Written was originally released in 1996.
